📝 Sage & Scribe

Partner A explains, Partner B writes. Switch roles each problem.

RANDOM

📋 How It Works

  1. Partner A (Sage) explains how to solve the problem step-by-step, without writing.
  2. Partner B (Scribe) writes exactly what the Sage says, asking for clarification when needed.
  3. After solving, switch roles for the next problem.
  4. Odd problems: Partner A is Sage. Even problems: Partner B is Sage.
Problem 1 Partner A is Sage
(-3)² + 4 × 2
Skill: Negative bases
= 17
  1. First exponent: (-3)² = 9
  2. Then multiply: 4 × 2 = 8
  3. Finally add: 9 + 8 = 17
Problem 2 Partner B is Sage
(4 + 2)² ÷ 6
Skill: PEMDAS with exponents
= 6
  1. First parentheses: 4 + 2 = 6
  2. Then exponent: 6² = 36
  3. Finally divide: 36 ÷ 6 = 6
Problem 3 Partner A is Sage
4² - 2³ + 5
Skill: Multiple exponents
= 13
  1. First exponent: 4² = 16
  2. Then exponent: 2³ = 8
  3. Subtract: 16 - 8 = 8
  4. Finally add: 8 + 5 = 13
Problem 4 Partner B is Sage
2³ + 4 × 3
Skill: Exponents and operations
= 20
  1. First exponent: 2³ = 8
  2. Then multiply: 4 × 3 = 12
  3. Finally add: 8 + 12 = 20
Problem 5 Partner A is Sage
3 × (8 - 2²)
Skill: Nested operations
= 12
  1. First exponent in parentheses: 2² = 4
  2. Parentheses: 8 - 4 = 4
  3. Finally multiply: 3 × 4 = 12
Problem 6 Partner B is Sage
(2 + 3)² - 4 × 5
Skill: Complex PEMDAS
= 5
  1. First parentheses: 2 + 3 = 5
  2. Then exponent: 5² = 25
  3. Then multiply: 4 × 5 = 20
  4. Finally subtract: 25 - 20 = 5
